In my Technology class we were doing a mini Photoshop edits unit and I thought that this was another great way to explore a different art style. I was able to learn how I can create art with Photoshop and the basics of it to edit some images. Some skills/tools that I learned and were helpful to create these images were filters, cropping, adding text, brushes, layers, etc. Because I did not know this editing tool that well, I came across many problems such as not being able to move an object and using the brush tools. I solved my problems by either experimenting the different tools or by searching up where the tool was. When I was unable to move around objects I learned why through trial and error and because Photoshop was giving me pop-ups explaining why I couldn't move it. In the first two projects I used to images to create a product. What this means is that I took one image to cut an object out of and place the object in a new surrounding. This two projects were a little tricky because sometimes the object did not have the same coloring or shadows as the background. To change this, I had to add filters to either the background or object in order for them to look the same. With the third image I wanted to try to make something from Photoshop that I had to start from scratch with. This started off as a black background and I was able to add text and draw over the text (with the brush tools) to create this image. The last image I wanted to do because I saw images similar to it and was inspired to create something like it. I think that using words to enhance a picture can give it so much more meaning and that was what I tried doing by creating this project. Because I have learned the basics, I now know and will be able to use this for basic photo edits. I think that I have learned a lot through this project and might be able to use these skills later on in the future.

This is a project I did using a form of trick photography to find letters in the environment around me. As you can see I found objects in my surrounding that forms things that look like letters to form a word. With the letters "N", "U", "R", and "E" were parts of murals located around my school that were not supposed to form letters. They formed a painting and I used that art to create into another type to art. With the letter "A" it was markings on a blacktop but I was able to take a picture and crop it to look like the letter "A". And as you can probably tell with "T" it was a door handle but I rotated it to form a letter. I suggest everyone to try out this project because it helps you think outside the box and look at objects with a different perspective.
This Year I want to live it in with positivity and happiness. So my #oneword for 2017 is happiness. I don't want to take anything for granted and want to always live in the moment. I want to live with a positive mindset. In the past through the great times I take them for granted and have not been able to enjoy every second spending time with friends and family. You know the saying, "live life to the fullest"? That's what I want to accomplish this year and to not take so many things for granted. I do understand life can not be perfect and there will be a few bumps in the road, but I want to be able to overcome those and see the joy in everything.
Here are pictures from over the past few weeks that I took during the rainy days. I always love to be able to get out of the house enjoy nature and it's beauties. Rain is one of my favorite times to take close-up pictures because I feel like it just shows nature its other side than just sunshine and happiness. Rain balances it out. 🌧
In my Language Arts class we wrote an informative essay about the historical-fiction book we were required to read over the summer. The book I read was called Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks. It was about a Native American's journey to being the first native to graduate Harvard. I know this is blog is supposed to be about being creative with work and this informative essay is does not fit the theme of my blog, but I can assure you I was able to be creative in another way. In technology, we were able to create an infographic about an event in our book. I created and was able to be creative with my infographic about how the Native Americans were affected when the Puritans arrived in their world. The two images above are linked to my essay(on the right) and my infographic(on the left).
I just wanted to share these pictures of when I took a trip to the Hawaiian Islands this summer. I mostly took pictures when we were able to go sight-seeing and when we were at beaches. Hope you enjoy! 😊
